Fluoride and Arsenite Removal by Adsorption on La2O3-CeO2/Laterite

چکیده
In the present article, adsorbent prepared from laterite with lanthanum and cerium oxides (La2O3-CeO2/laterite (LCL)) was efficiently employed for removal of arsenite fluoride an aqueous environment. The obtained materials were characterized by XRD, SEM, nitrogen adsorption/desorption. synthesized LCL exhibited a high adsorption capacity towards (As(III)) fluoride. both analytes on LCL, which well-fitted to pseudo-second-order equation, found be kinetically fast in first 20 minutes reached equilibrium at around 180 minutes. Weber’s intraparticle diffusion model multilinearity using piecewise linear regression combined Akaike’s criteria addressed. capacities calculated Langmuir’s isotherm 67.08 mg·g-1 58.02 Thermodynamic parameters presented endothermic nature but exothermic negative Gibbs free energy spontaneous process or studied temperature range. excellent performance stability make composite La-Ce binary alternative efficient cheap solution.

Adsorption Isotherms on Fluoride Removal: Batch Techniques
The ability of cynodon dactylon based thermally activated carbon to remove fluoride from aqueous solution has been investigated. The batch adsorption studies were carried out at neutral pH as the functions of contact time, adsorbent dose, adsorbate concentration, temperature and effect of co-anions, which are commonly present in water. The rate of adsorption was rapid during initial 105 minutes...
متن کاملFluoride removal from water by adsorption on acid activated kaolinite clay
When drinking water contains excess fluoride it causes health hazards to human beings. In the present investigation the removal of fluoride has been attempted using acid activated kaolinite clay obtained from local traditional potter of Majuli river island, Assam. The clay was characterized by chemical analysis, IR, XRD data and thermal analysis. The clay was activated with conc. H2SO4. The flu...
متن کاملFluoride Removal from Water by Adsorption on a High Alumina Content Bauxite
Drinking water contamination by fluoride is recognized as a major public health problem in many parts of the world. In fact, although fluoride is an essential trace element for animals and humans, excessive fluoride intake may cause adverse health effects. In this study we investigated the potential of a natural, high alumina content, bauxite for the removal of fluoride from contaminated water....
متن کاملContamination and Removal of Iron and Fluoride from Groundwater by Adsorption and Filtration: A Review
The problems related to groundwater contamination by Iron and Fluoride are common and serious all over the world, especially in developing countries. Excess amounts of these contaminants have created health problems. For this reason, the maximum permissible limit for iron given by WHO and BIS is 1 mg/l, however 0.3 mg/l is the desirable limit. For fluoride, the maximum permissible limit is 1.5 ...
